ComfyUI released a new version expanding video saving and compute precision options. Developers building video workflows can adjust formats and compute settings and use newly supported models, editing nodes, and workflow components.

1. Choose video formats and color information handling

Released on November 4, 2026, v0.44.0 adds ProRes, a high-quality compression format for video editing, to video saving. It also adds color sampling options that determine how color information is distributed. Video output changes cover both storage formats and color handling. Color sampling input validation is also included.

Video upscaling also gains more options. BFL's Flux Video Upscale V2 node adds 1080p, 2K, and 4K target output resolutions. Alongside video format changes, developers using this node can select their desired output size.

Pruna's P-Video Upscale node was also added.

2. Specify numerical precision for VAE computation

On the compute side, a new node sets compute precision for the VAE, a model architecture that compresses and reconstructs image information. Precision settings determine how finely numbers used in computation are represented. This change makes that choice available within workflows.

Errors related to the new setting were also fixed. A crash caused by the compute precision node in the LTX 2.5 diffusion VAE decoder was resolved.

FP8 and BF16 represent numbers used in computation differently. An issue where fp8_e4m3fn_fast switched to bf16 computation under dynamic VRAM management was also fixed.

3. Expand MiniMax-H3 models and editing nodes together

MiniMax-H3 gains support for a latent upscaler model, and MiniMax Sol-H3-VAE is now supported. MiniMax-H3 context window support was also added.

MiniMax partner nodes gained features for reconstruction, extension, reframing, insertion, lip sync, and camera control.

4. Review existing nodes as options expand

New output formats, compute precision settings, and model support expand the available feature set. Bug fixes correct existing execution behavior, while deprecation and relocation change existing nodes' status and location.

Existing partner nodes also have status changes. Seedance 1.x video nodes were deprecated.

WaveSpeed's FlashVSR and image upscale nodes moved to Comfy Router. Workflows using these nodes need to check their new location separately from adding new features.

The release notes do not list available values or defaults for the new settings, nor performance or memory usage comparisons. The update is therefore best assessed by whether it brings needed output methods and models into workflows, rather than by speed gains.

ComfyUI v0.44.0 adds video output and VAE precision settings and MiniMax-H3 support, alongside execution bug fixes and the deprecation and relocation of existing partner nodes.
